RAZIONALE - ABSTRACT
Considering the great complexity and heterogeneity of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), the identification of accurate biomarkers of disease progression is important for both the clinical practice and the design of treatment trials. Advanced neuroimaging techniques are emerging as promising candidates in such context. Since the first meeting of NiSALS (Neuroimaging Society in ALS) was held in 2010, neuroimaging scientists have been gathering every year from all over the world to contribute to this international consortium fostering neuroimaging as a key tool for understanding ALS. Today, a growing number of centers across Europe, North America, and Australia are NiSALS members. The 12th annual NiSALS meeting will be the first to be held in person since the beginning of the COVID pandemic, and will be the occasion to present the most novel, exciting developments in the field.
